Nevada Impairment Exams / Reviews
Michael A. Glick, D.O., C.I.M.E.
I would like to introduce myself. My name is Michael Allen Glick, D.O. I am a Board Certified Nevada Licensed Physician. An impairment evaluation as defined by the Fifth Edition of the AMA Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment is “a medical evaluation performed by a physician, using a standard method as outlined in the Guides to determine permanent impairment associated with a medical condition. An impairment evaluation may include a numerical impairment percentage or rating as defined in the Guides”. I currently have performed approximately 1,400 of these evaluations as a Nevada Impairment Rater.
The State of Nevada currently uses the term Permanent Partial Disability Evaluation (PPD) to indicate impairment type evaluations, which are performed on occupational related injuries for the State of Nevada.
Numerous studies over the years have shown common errors in (1) performing these evaluations; (2) making an exact determination of impairment. In fact, small errors in the percentages of these impairments can mean a difference in thousands of dollars either based on examiner error or unfamiliarity with the rating process. I would like to provide you with the service of either (1) performing permanent partial disability evaluations or impairment evaluations in a professional manner; or (2) reviewing other permanent partial disability evaluations or impairment evaluations that have been performed by other physicians or chiropractors.
Our mission is to provide professional, honest, unbiased and accurate impairment evaluations and impairment evaluation reviews.
Currently the State of Nevada uses the Fifth Edition of the AMA Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment, but for non-occupational related injuries such as motor vehicle accidents or civil injuries, the Sixth Edition may be used.
